This years renewal is now due. If you are not already a member, join now. Please make sure you keep your memberships up to date. As you know these newsletters are now ONLY delivered to current member and you could miss out. Do not assume that when you reach retiring age that we know your age, you need to tell us. There is a form at the end of this newsletter, if you are in doubt send it in and we will check. Occasionally, like this newsletter, we will deliver throughtout theallow others to join. Anyone living in the area can join. If you know of someone waiting to join then tell them to contact our secretary. Our membership now is in the 1,000's and we think we are proving that by us all working together, that not only are we, as a population, successfully running our area but also improving facilities.

DARTFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL AND SWANSCOMBE AND GREENHITHE TOWN COUNCIL ELECTIONS FOR GREENHITHE WARD THURSDAY 5TH MAY 2011

This election is all about who you want to represent you for the next 4 years on Dartford and Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Council. All of candidates live in the Town and suffer the same problems as you.

 Some of the other candidates opposing us, live in other parts of Dartford (Wilmington/Stone etc) so how can they know what you need, or understand your problems? If they were elected and had to decide where improvements were needed or money to be spent, would they chose the area they represented or where they live?

You can guarantee our candidates live here and support the area 100%. You all receive our newsletters that tell you what we are doing, this is not just at election times but throughout the years.  Where are these other groups that are putting up for election for election, do they all hold surgeries every month for you to go to, do they support local activities as we do, do they keep you informed? Of course they do not, we believe that the only reason is to swell the ranks of the national parties they represent. That is not what we need or what our area needs from our local council.

All of our candidates are local people dedicated to improve and look after Greenhithe They are asking for your continuing support because they believe there is still a lot to be done. Developers may be quite now, due to the economic climate, but we expect them to start again in the coming months, needing a strong representation from your local Councillors. Our candidates and Association know all of this history and are best people to tackle this when it arise. The candidates from the other national parties would have no idea of these issues and in many cases not even know the names or our roads.

You all made history when you elected our candidate to Kent County Council two years ago. Our Town is now unique in that it has no national party representatives at the Town, Borough and County level. The are all independent, our Residents Association.

Probably one of the of the only Towns in the UK.  KEEP IT THAT WAY,

The time has come for the whole of the Town to work together to achieve a better future for all, as well as our children. I  It does not matter what national politics you follow, the Association allows you to all come together and work for a better life.
